Read Time: 1 Minute, 42 Second The draft comprehensive plan of measures to ensure the water supply of Crimea and Sevastopol involves the construction of one installation for the purification of sea water, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the republic told Kommersant. “In accordance with the draft comprehensive plan of measures to ensure water supply to the Crimea and Sevastopol, the option of building a seawater purification plant is currently being worked out.

Preliminary it is planned to locate it on the western coast of the peninsula: between Nikolaevka and Saki, ”the ministry said. When choosing a location, according to officials, specialists take into account the following parameters: the site should assume the possibility of placing additional desalination plant capacity in the future. It must have access to the required amount of electricity, a deep-water outlet for the discharge of brine, which is formed after the purification of sea water. Also, there should be sources of drinking water near the future installation, since the purified distillate must be diluted with water to bring it to drinking quality. Earlier, the Russian government presented a plan to ensure reliable water supply to the Crimean peninsula, which involves the construction of a seawater desalination plant with a total capacity of 40 thousand cubic meters per day by 2023. Most of the funds are expected to be allocated from the federal budget – 7.8 billion rubles. for 2021 and 2022, it is planned to allocate 410 million rubles from the regional budget. However, this amount does not include the cost of engineering infrastructure. Prior to this, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, reported that a desalination plant could be built in the village of Nikolaevka, on the seashore, 30 km from Simferopol. According to experts, the estimated cost of the project will be about 20-30 billion rubles. excluding the cost of construction of a water conduit and a desalination waste treatment plant. About the problems with the water supply of the Crimea – in the material of “Kommersant” Crimea will be given to drink by the sea.
